Class Update |
 |
Wednesday, May 16 What a gorgeous day for flying!
Today's Office hours:12pm-9:30pm
A friendly reminder that socks, with no toe separation, are required for all flying trapeze classes!
Baseball season is here! With a prime location right by Nationals Stadium, students should pay special attention to the game schedule, as it may affect your drive and/or parking decisions. Metro is always the preferred, and suggested, alternative.
If you are looking for a class that is full, you can always email the office and request to be put on a waitlist! We won't automatically register you, but we will notify you if spots open up! Please limit requests to two individual classes a week.

Indoor vs Outdoor Flying!
Are the rigs the same?
Both rigs are the same height, though may feel slightly different when flying under the expanse of the wide open sky!
How do I know what class I’m signing up for?
If only one class exists during the time block, the class will be non-designated and simply listed as “Flying Trapeze – Navy Yards”, this class has the flexibility to be outdoors or move indoors as needed by weather. When two classes exist at a time, they will be designated “Flying Trapeze – Indoors at Navy Yards” or “Flying Trapeze – “Outdoors at Navy Yards”. These classes cannot move.
What about weather?
Only classes that are designated as Outdoors will be impacted by weather. Generally, when poor weather may impact a class, we will put it on “weather warning” two hours before the start of class. When a class is on weather warning, students may cancel without penalty if they directly contact the office to do so. In the rare occurrence of advance cancellation, students will be contacted directly.
What are any other differences? The indoor rig also has the added benefit of video recording for students to review their technique. For this reason, all Intermediate and Workshop classes are always indoors.

Both our Indoor and Outdoor (seasonal) classes are held at 4th St SE and Tingey in The Yards of Capitol Riverfront.
This location is 3 blocks from Nationals Stadium and a short walk from the Navy Yards metro stop. There is parking available, both street meters and very reasonably priced parking lots (~$6.00 a day), but please be aware of changes during Nationals home games. This is an up and coming area and we are excited to be a part of it!
